Larmon Lyle Loucks

May 10, 1930 - May 12, 2021

Larmon Lyle Loucks, of Broomfield Colorado passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 12, 2021 at the age of 91 after an extended illness.

Larmon was born in Eckert Colorado, on May 10, 1930 to Leo P. Loucks and Ruby Denman Loucks.  In his younger years, the family lived in a number of homes in and around Cederedge Colorado. His days were filled with the types of things young country boys do, getting muddy, shooting BB guns, hunting, fishing and working hard. Because he grew up in the middle of the depression, he spent many years working odd jobs (mostly picking fruit or hauling hay), to try to make money to help his family after the death of his father when he was only 9 years old.

After graduating from Cedaredge High School in 1948, he moved with his mother and siblings to Bay City, Oregon.  In October 1952, Larmon enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War as a Radar Specialist, until December 1954.  After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he moved to Denver, where he met the love of his life, Jeanne Kline.  Larmon and Jeanne married on November 03, 1957 and raised four children.  Larmon worked as a skilled machinist for many years before starting his own business in 1976, Mountain States Screw Machine Company, where he worked until the age of 80 when he retired.

Larmon was passionate about sports of all kinds, whether in person or on television but most important, was watching his grandson Ryan wrestle.  He was also very involved in youth sports programs for his children helping to coach baseball, football and wrestling.  He was very involved with his sons in the Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster.  He loved taking his boys hiking, camping and fishing.  Larmon loved to play horseshoes and bowl and participated in several leagues in his younger years.

He served faithfully, volunteering in many capacities as a member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Donating many hours as a Financial Ward Clerk, Elders Quorum Counselor, Sunday School President, and High Priest Group Leader.  He loved the Lord and tried his best to serve in his humble quite way.

Best of all, he was a magnificent storyteller. Family and friends loved to listen to his stories about growing up in the country, his days as a service member, and his many outdoor adventures.  Larmon will always be remembered for his jolly, happy spirit, always with a smile on his face.  He loved meeting and talking to people and was loved by everyone that knew him.

Larmon was preceded in death by his father Leo P. Loucks, his mother Ruby Denman Loucks, his brothers Herb Loucks, Gerry Loucks, and Everett Loucks.  He is survived by his sweet wife, L. Jeanne Kline Loucks, his children Karl Loucks (Mary), Mark Loucks (Jana), Eric Loucks (Sandra) and Joanie Trujillo (Steve) and his sister Glennis Loucks McFarland.  Grandchildren, Shereece Trujillo Pollert (Josh), Rachel Trujillo White (Jarrod), Ryan Trujillo (Samantha), Lance Loucks, Andrew Loucks, Jessilee Loucks, Logan Loucks, Landon Loucks (Katasha), Layton Loucks and Christian Loucks (Olivia).  Great Grandchildren, Tucker Pollert, Addi Pollert, Owen White, Noah White and Layla Loucks.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday May 18, 2021, with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and services starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Church of Latter Day Saints, 1250 Main Street, Broomfield, Colorado 80020.  All are invited to attend but please remember masks are required. I never met Larson but I have heard stories about what a wonderful man he was. Wish I had had the opportunity to have known him. Have comfort knowing that he is in Heaven now with our Lord.

My great fortune to have traveled with Jeannie & Larmon for the last 6 months. During the fun times/the times we were together, occasionally his blood sugar was low. And this then would require him to eat a cookie or two. Every time he wanted a cookie, I would always take the cookie jar off the counter and place it open in front of him-on purpose! And as soon as he reached his hand in to take a cookie, I would loudly exclaim “Jeannie! I caught him with his hand in the cookie jar! Then all of us would belly laugh. Thanks Larmon for being so fun to be with.
